What Is Microshading?
Microblading is the manual method of adding pigment to the epidermis in tiny, precise hair-like strokes to mimic hair. The natural-looking results are made with a hand-held microblade (hence the name) made up of 7+ microneedles. The hairlike strokes with the blade make for a natural and permanent look. Where tattoos are permanent under 7 layers of skin, microblading is under 3 layers of skin, so the look will eventually lighten up over time.
Benefits Of Microblading:
Long Lasting Results
Microbladed eyebrows keep their shape and look for around 2-3 years. Yes, YEARS. Most beauty treatments mean having to go back to the salon every couple of weeks, and that can get quite pricey pretty fast. A few touch ups is all you need with microblading and you get to keep your amazing results for years.
Saves You Money
Like we said above, one treatment every couple of years versus continued treatments every month or so and the money really starts to add up after a while. Save big bucks with microblading and invest in yourself.
Saves You Time In The Morning
Getting ready in the morning always has the potential of being a disaster and making us late for work. With microbladed eyebrows, you don’t have to worry about meticulously drawing them on, getting one wrong and having to start all over again. Use that extra time to sleep in or enjoy some extra sips from your morning coffee before you head off to work.
Microblading Is Safe
As long as your eyebrows are done by a licensed professional esthetician, there are very few risks associated with microblading. The ink used in microblading is an organic pigment that slowly fades over time. Always make sure your esthetician is using the organic inks as they have much less of a chance to cause a reaction up your skin. Always ask questions and be aware of what someone is putting in your body at all times.
Save Time With Short Sessions
Getting microbladed is a non-invasive treatment that only takes around 1 ½ hours from start to finish. Your esthetician will go over the look they are designing for your brows and then once you approve, they will start with the procedure. You’ll be in and out in no time with brand new, gorgeous brows.
Painless Procedure
Don’t let the term “microbladed” fool you, it is a relatively painless procedure that will give you great results without any harsh recovery or months-long, intense aftercare. Your technician will use numbing topical creams during the microblading so you should not feel uncomfortable. Make sure to stay relaxed during the appointment as well. Follow these simple steps for easy aftercare when you get your eyebrows microbladed:
- Avoid getting the microbladed area wet for up to 10 days, which includes keeping your face dry during a shower.
- Don’t wear makeup for at least 7 days. The pigments are still settling into the shallow cuts in your skin caused by the blading.
- Don’t pick at any scabs or itch the eyebrow area.
- Avoid swimming and excessive sweating until the area is completely healed.
- Keep your hair away from your brow line.
- Apply any medicated cream or healing balm provided by your microblading tech as instructed.

FAQ : Microblading
Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattooing. Rather than a traditional cosmetic tattoo machine, a manual handheld tool which contains tiny needles is used to implant pigment into the skin mimicking natural hair strokes.
Before we begin, we will consult with you about what you envision your eyebrows to look like, giving you the freedom to choose whether you would like thick and dark brows or a lighter and finer finish. A touch up session is needed after 4-6 weeks. Certain areas may not pick up during first session and will need to be refilled. Pigment colour may need to be adjusted, brow thickness and more strokes can be added. Individuals with oily skin often require a deeper shade during the touch up session as the oils tend to lighten the pigment.
This cutting-edge treatment is used to give realistic hair stroke effects to eyebrows, enabling a thicker and fuller appearance without the need to apply make-up on a daily basis.
Depending on your skin type and care, the pigment will fade slowly over 18-24 months.
The service can be a little uncomfortable for those who are more sensitive. However, there is an anesthetic applied during to keep this to a minimum to where it is completely tolerable.
The pigment is applied with a specific brows tool that has a row of several fine needles to create thin hair like marks in the skin. Your artist will choose needles and the blade type according to the technique and the skin type. The pigment is bladed just below the epidermis and the most shallow part of the dermis, making extremely fine natural looking hair strokes. A very natural result is achieved, as the hairs are bladed into the skin according to the natural hair growth direction. A touch up is included 4-6 weeks after your initial treatment.
Do not drink coffee, alcohol or energizing drinks on the day of treatment. Do not take omega3. Do not tan or have intense sun exposure 3 days before treatment.
The appointment should take about two hours.
The sensation feels like a slight scratch and vibration on the skin. Most clients say they find our treatment very relaxing.
We used specialist numbing creams throughout to make your treatment comfortable and calming.
Tattoo ink is used for eyebrow tattooing while microblading uses a specialized pigment. Ink differs greatly from pigment in the way it fades over time. In contrast, microblading pigment is specifically designed to fade into a lighter version of the colour used so the patient retains a natural appearance.
