Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattooing. Rather than a traditional cosmetic tattoo machine, a manual handheld tool which contains tiny needles is used to implant pigment into the skin mimicking natural hair strokes.
Before we begin, we will consult with you about what you envision your eyebrows to look like, giving you the freedom to choose whether you would like thick and dark brows or a lighter and finer finish. A touch up session is needed after 4-6 weeks. Certain areas may not pick up during first session and will need to be refilled. Pigment colour may need to be adjusted, brow thickness and more strokes can be added. Individuals with oily skin often require a deeper shade during the touch up session as the oils tend to lighten the pigment.
This cutting-edge treatment is used to give realistic hair stroke effects to eyebrows, enabling a thicker and fuller appearance without the need to apply make-up on a daily basis.
Depending on your skin type and care, the pigment will fade slowly over 18-24 months.
The service can be a little uncomfortable for those who are more sensitive. However, there is an anesthetic applied during to keep this to a minimum to where it is completely tolerable.
The pigment is applied with a specific brows tool that has a row of several fine needles to create thin hair like marks in the skin. Your artist will choose needles and the blade type according to the technique and the skin type. The pigment is bladed just below the epidermis and the most shallow part of the dermis, making extremely fine natural looking hair strokes. A very natural result is achieved, as the hairs are bladed into the skin according to the natural hair growth direction. A touch up is included 4-6 weeks after your initial treatment.
Do not drink coffee, alcohol or energizing drinks on the day of treatment. Do not take omega3. Do not tan or have intense sun exposure 3 days before treatment.
The appointment should take about two hours.
The sensation feels like a slight scratch and vibration on the skin. Most clients say they find our treatment very relaxing.
We used specialist numbing creams throughout to make your treatment comfortable and calming.
Tattoo ink is used for eyebrow tattooing while microblading uses a specialized pigment. Ink differs greatly from pigment in the way it fades over time. In contrast, microblading pigment is specifically designed to fade into a lighter version of the colour used so the patient retains a natural appearance.
